Deputy President William Ruto’s remarks during former housing Minister Hon Soita Shitanda’s funeral that for one to be president he or she must ass-lick Mt Kenya mafia did not go down well with many especially with the Opposition. Now Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has sought to clarify and respond to DP Ruto directly.
In a indirect retaliatory remark while speaking in Kiambu this morning, Kabogo told Ruto to forget about the Presidency and that the Mt. Kenya community will not give away the seat in a silver platter.
Negotiations will determine who Mt Kenya voters will support for Presidency in 2022 , Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has said. Meaning no amount of ass-licking will help Ruto.
Kabogo said the region’s support would not be automatic or guaranteed for any individual, adding that the region would not be compelled to support any preferred candidate to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta.
Preliminary strategy paper leaked to a few indicated that Mt Kenya mafia will support DP Ruto with Devolution CS Mwangi Kiunjuri as his running mate. However another strategy paper leaked indicated that Peter Kenneth stands a better chance of clinching the presidency given the fact that he is half Kikuyu and half Mzungu.
There are plans to have Hon Peter Kenneth to run for Nairobi governor in 2017 as a launching pad for his 2022 presidential stab. Hon Keneth is expected to manage Nairobi as a model of how country should be managed.
